Ann Davison has served as Seattle City Attorney since January 1, 2022, becoming the first woman and mother to hold the role. Elected during a time of crisis, she inherited over 5,000 uncharged criminal cases and a depleted criminal division, which she swiftly rebuilt—clearing the backlog, instituting real-time filing practices, and centering victims in public safety reform. Ann introduced the office’s first public data analytics platform, earning national recognition and invitations to speak at prosecutor data summits. She expanded diversion programs and therapeutic courts, while also pursuing impactful civil litigation, including a $160 million Monsanto settlement and a pioneering lawsuit against Kia/Hyundai over vehicle theft risks. A longtime Seattle attorney, small business owner, and community volunteer, Ann’s career spans law, sports management, teaching, and humanitarian work, all driven by a commitment to justice, safety, and service.
